The story of the wooden strawbs is a happy accident.

The strawbs are a demonstration piece of one way to make multicolored prints.

Once, I forgot to put paper on the block and ran the inked block through the press.

Back then I was using an extra piece of wood on top to add and spread out pressure, one of many printing experiments.

As it turns out, the ink adheres to birch plywood quite well, and made an excellent gift for Liz.
